Transforming Facility Management: Augment’s Wiretwin at AUB

Written by Augment

At a recent seminar at the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2024, Augment's CTO Jade Ghadry presented the capabilities of the Wiretwin platform to Civil Engineering students, highlighting the transformative potential of web-based BIM models. The focus was on how these models enhance efficiency and data consistency during the handover, construction, and management phases of a facility's lifecycle. By integrating these technologies, facility managers can ensure smoother transitions, reduce errors, and maintain a comprehensive, real-time overview of their projects.

During the seminar, students engaged in a hands-on mock project using Wiretwin, experiencing firsthand the platform's collaborative features. This exercise demonstrated significant improvements in project management and data accuracy. The real-time collaboration capabilities facilitated seamless communication and coordination among team members, a crucial aspect in civil engineering projects where precision and timing are paramount. The students noted that such a platform not only streamlined their workflows but also enhanced their understanding of integrated project delivery.

The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, underscoring Wiretwin's user-friendliness and its potential to revolutionize facility management. They appreciated the platform's ability to provide a centralized data repository, which ensured that all team members had access to up-to-date information, thereby reducing redundancy and miscommunication. This event reinforced Augment's commitment to innovation in digital transformation, showcasing its competitive edge in the BIM and facility management sectors.
