Schroeder & Associés, established in 1961, is a pillar of engineering excellence in Luxembourg, specializing in structural design and infrastructure projects. The firm employs around 450 people delivering high-quality solutions across urban development, technical consulting, and project management. Schroeder has embraced digital transformation by integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) into its operations.
In 2022, Thierry Flies of Schroeder & Associés outlined the company's Operations and Maintenance (O&M) ambitions at the Luxembourg City Incubator's reverse pitch event. This vision caught the attention of Augment CEO Rida Klink, sparking discussions that would evolve into a strategic partnership. Recognizing the potential of digital twin technology to revolutionize facility management, Schroeder found a natural partner in Augment.
Schroeder & Associés had two complementary objectives for their partnership with Augment, in line with their vision for the future of engineering and sustainable development:
Internal digital transformation Schroeder sought to pilot Augment's Wiretwin technology within their own headquarters building, becoming an early customer to test how digital twin solutions could enhance their operational efficiency, maintenance and reporting processes. This hands-on experience would demonstrate the value of digital twins in real-world facility management.
Strategic service expansion Building on their BIM expertise, Schroeder aimed to expand into Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for their clients. The partnership with Augment would enable Schroeder to offer integrated digital twin solution, combining their deep BIM knowledge with Augment's cutting-edge technology to deliver enhanced operational efficiency and data-driven building management services to their client base, setting new standards in facility management through technology and collaboration.
As part of an initial pilot, Schroeder provided the BIM model of their office headquarters for integration into Augment's Wiretwin platform. This collaboration demonstrated how Wiretwin integrates with BIM systems to deliver digital twins of facilities, optimizing asset management and enhancing technician workflows.
The collaboration between Augment and Schroeder & Associés demonstrates how engineering expertise and technological innovation can work together to address facility management challenges. Schroeder officially signed on as Augment's client, establishing a partnership focused on developing more efficient practices in facility management.
And the partnership continues: at Innovation Day 2024, hosted at Schroeder & Associés' headquarters in Kockelscheuer, we showcased Wiretwin's capabilities to startups and industry leaders exploring sustainable, data-driven solutions.
